Anyone?

If for some reason you are going to be in Bristol this weekend, I would ask, nay BEG you to go to this. Pick me up a print while you're there. I'll pay you back, promise. It won't be like that time at Del Taco that I was all, "Dude, please just buy me 3 crispy tacos, I'll totally get you next time." and then I totally didn't.

The Cans Festival

The first ever Cans Festival was held in London last weekend, marking the biggest collection of stencil art in one area. Or something like that. Banksy had some boss new pieces, which is always cool, but what really amazed me was the level of detail some of these are able to achieve. Keep in mind that this was stencils only. That was the cardinal rule. Romanywg has a really good Flickr set of the whole shebang, take a look.

Update: Here's some YouTubage of the event as well.

Banksy Site Update.

Banksy has just updated his site with new pics from his jaunt in Bethlahem, as well as some pieces from London. There's also a very informative Q & A, and new stuff in the "Store" for you to download and enjoy without having to spend buckets of duckets.

Banksy Revealed!?

Spy photos have revealed a man who, by all accounts matches descriptions and "representations" of the guerilla artist, Banksy. I can not confirm that this is indeed the man himself, but you have to admit, the resemblance is striking. If you want to keep the mystery alive, please do NOT click this. I, for one, did not see this one coming.

Missed Out On Banksy...Again.

Sold out in 10 seconds. No way am I ever going to get one of his prints for under a grand. Fuck.

Banksy's Back, Bombing in Bristol

Great to see B hasn't taken the money and ran, as thie piece just went up in his hometown. His site was just updated as well with three brand new pieces in the "Outdoor" section. On a sidebar, there is a new print dropping this month, anyone who feels like sitting at their computer for the next 30 days straight, refreshing the POW site until it comes out, please let me know, I'll buy you lunch. Thanks to Buddings on the Banksy Forums for the photo.

Get Your Art On.

For anyone who is playing against the odds (Smiting by God, Riots, Earthquake, AutoLohanicide) and venturing in to Los Angeles before the end of the month should definitely put this on their list of things to do. Antony Micallef is the UK's "next hot shit artist" after a couple of chaps named Banksy and Hirst. A lot of his art is centered around the consumer fanaticism of brands, and their ability to be loathed and lusted after simultaneously. That, and guns. This is his first exhibition stateside, so go and check it out, and in six months when your friends are saying, "OMG! U TTLY NEED 2 CHK OUT THIS ARTIST!" You can text back, "STFU, n00b."
