Jake and I stayed in California through the weekend with
Dan to catch
Ricky Gervais at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. We got up at 7:00am to hit the Coffee and Cars show at the Irvine Spectrum which should be called, "Shit Tons of Rich Dudes Needing Ego Strokes". We saw the Nor Cal Burton rep there with his Ferrari F430, who seemed more than a little uncomfortable seeing us there. He even had his dad drive the Ferrari out of the parking lot, as to avoid being photographed (and subsequently ridiculed) by us and the rest of the people who would give a shit.

From there we had a bomb ass breakfast at the Coyote Grill in Laguna, which turned in to a good hour of story swapping. As we drove passed Mission Viejo, Dan was like, "let's go check out the Apple store, see what's up." It doesn't take Nostradamus to see where that would lead:

So three phones later, we were back on the road. Back to DMC's house to nerd out for a bit, installing all the amazing necessities on the App Store, oohing and ahhhing over the increased awesomeness of 3G speed, and trying to beat that buyer's remorse in to submission.
That alone would have been a pretty full day, but there was still one more thing on the agenda. LA. I had purchased tickets for Ricky Gervais' first US "Tour" (two stops, LA and NY) almost a year ago and now we were a few short hours away from seeing one of my favorite comedians in the same theater where I have had my heart broken by the Oscars for so many years. The Kodak Theater is gynormous, exactly how it looks on TV, and we were smack dab in the middle of it. By our seat placement, I could see us sitting in the solid "B-Lister" section, and I imagined myself sitting in the very same seat that perhaps Tom Berringer once occupied. I was hoping for a little bit more new material from Ricky G., but being able to see him live was definitely awesome.

By the time we got back to the house, I felt like it was four in the morning, but when I looked at my watch, the time read 10:40. I guess I was just tuckered out from all the excitement of the day, when was the last time that happened?
