The double-edged sword that is the SIA Tradeshow is once again upon us. The optimist looks at that glass and sees it as a week in Vegas with 10,000 of your closest friends. The pessimist ( and you can't spell pessimist without "ME") looks at the glass as an interminable sea of scenester douchebags, who make connecting with the two or three people you actually want to see there next to impossible. But, the optimist part of the pessimist knows that the best stories are tragedies, so why not throw yourself in with reckless abandon and hope to laugh about it in the future. So I passed up a comfy (albeit germ infested) seat on a Southwest flight to drive a U-Haul trailer full of outerwear 6 hours to Vegas. That should be a good start. Updates, for sure, to follow.
